Mel Gibson's latest foul-mouthed rant caught on tape

'Basic Instinct' screenwriter leaks recording to back up 'anti-Semitic' claims

Mel Gibson's latest foul-mouthed rant caught on tape
Another recording of foul mouthed abuse by Oscar-winning actor and director Mel Gibson has been apparently leaked online. The tape, which appears to document Gibson berating his girlfriend and screaming at his house guests, was recorded and released by Hollywood screenwriter Joe Estzerhas. Eszterhas, famous for his scripts for Showgirls andBasic Instinct, has recently, and very publicly, fallen out with Mel Gibson over the production of The Maccabees, a film about a famous Jewish warrior.

Eszterhas has since claimed that Gibson was simply pretending to be interested in making the film to save face and rebuild his reputation in Hollywood. Stating in a letter to Mel that he has "come to the conclusion that the reason you won’t make The Maccabeesis the ugliest possible one. You hates Jews."

On the subject of leaking the tape Eszterhas is quoted as saying:
My interest isn't to damage him with this tape but to prevent damage being done to others. This recording shows him the way he really is. If he doesn't get help and receive it then someone is going to get hurt.

Gibson, star of the Lethal Weapon series and star/director of Braveheart, has been in and out of the headlines ever since his infamous 2006 arrest where he insisted that Jews were the cause of all wars and called a Los Angeles policewoman "sugartits".

You can hear some excerpts of Mel Gibson's recent tape over at The Wrap.

Gibson's latest movie, Get The Gringo, is reportedly heading straight to Video On Demand.
