His squeaky clean image appeals to protective parents as much to his young fanbase.

But it seems even Justin Bieber is susceptible to the occasional temptation - after a photo emerged showing him apparently enjoying the college drinking game beer pong.
The teen star is seen standing at a table with a group of apparently older friends, with the telltale red beer cups and cans of the game laid out on the ping pong table in front of the them.

Bieber is not seen holding a drink in the picture and looks rather less comfortable than the participants, in his childish backpack and cap.

While at 18 Bieber has three years until he can legally drink alcohol in the U.S., it is not known where or when the photo was taken.

The star would be old enough to consume alcohol in many of the countries he travels to as part of his music career, including parts of his home country of Canada and most of Europe.

According to TMZ the photo was either taken in Alabama in June, when he would have been underage, or in Canada or Georgia.

Beer pong is a popular college drinking game in the U.S., and involves players throwing a ping pong ball across a table into a cup of beer on the other end. If a ball lands in a cup, then the contents of that cup are consumed by the other team.
Bieber has previously admitted that he has tried alcohol.

In the June issue of the U.S. edition of GQ, said: 'For me, it's just like, I like to be in control of myself. I mean, I've had a beer, like, before. . . But I never get out of control.'
But despite the admission he said he was careful not to do anything which would disappoint his fans.

He explained: 'I mean, I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can't trust anyone in this business. That's what's sad. You can't trust anybody. I learned the hard way.'
