Ashton Kutcher has signed up to be the 500th "astronaut customer."
The Two and a Half Men star will travel to outer space with Richard Branson on the Virgin Galactic space plane, it was announced today.
The Virgin boss explained on his blog how he broke the news to the 34-year-old Hollywood star.
"I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him," Richard wrote. "He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself."
According to Virgin Galactic's website, tickets for the trip cost $200,000 and it will be the first commercial airline to offer suborbital spaceflights.
"Ashton is joining a fast expanding group of true pioneers who are on their way to a life changing experience and a place in the history books," the travel mogul added. "It's great to have him on board."
Ashton is currently separated from his estranged wife Demi Moore after reports that he cheated on her on their six-year wedding anniversary. He is reported to have a net worth of around $140 million.
Other celebrities like Tom Hanks, Katy Perry, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly also likely to make the trip on the SpaceShipTwo rocket plane.
