Kim Kardashian received a rather unwanted surprise at the launch of her new fragrance after a woman covered her in white powder on the red carpet.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said deputies and paramedics were called to the hotel, but Kardashian refused medical treatment.
The fire department were also called to determine the nature of the substance, which they determined to be cooking flour.
The woman, who had been detained by hotel security, was later released at the scene after Kim, 31, told police she did not want to press charges.
Moments before the attack Kim had looked impeccably well-groomed on the red carpet, teaming a black blazer and leather trousers with a blue top and sleek straightened hair.
But the attack did little to deter Kardashian from enjoying the evening – she simply returned to her room, removed the powder from her hair and clothing and returned to the event.
