Jessie J confirms return as judge to The Voice as line-up from first series is back
THERE were fears Jessie and Sir Tom Jones had quit the music show but those concerns have been allayed with both revealing they were back.
ALL four judges on The Voice UK will be back for series two – despite claims Jessie J and Sir Tom Jones wanted out.
They will be reunited with will.i.am and Danny O’Donoghue when the blind auditions of the BBC1 talent search begins next spring.
There had been criticism that the show didn’t match up to its hype. Jessie had said in her autobiography that she wouldn’t be back, while it was claimed Tom had quit.
But yesterday, Jessie said: “I’m so happy to be back as one of the original four for series two. It’s going to be bigger and better this time.”
The first series pulled in big audiences because of the blind auditions but ratings dropped as it returned to the X Factor formula. And winner Leanne Mitchell failed to set the charts alight.
Tom said: “I’ve heard there will be some important changes that will make what is already a good, strong show even better.”
