Robin Gibb, who recently spoke of his "spectacular" recovery from cancer, has been taken back to the hospital for an operation on Sunday due to complications of a twisted bowel.
Despite being hospitalised, the 62-year-old singer is still planning to attend a London premiere next month of the Titanic Requiem, which he composed, the Mirror reported.
"On Sunday 25 March, Robin Gibb underwent further intestinal surgery," an official statement released on the singer's behalf read.
"He is currently recovering in hospital and therefore, for the time being, all existing commitments prior to the Titanic Requiem concert, have had to be cancelled."
Gibb underwent surgery for colon cancer after being diagnosed last year and the outlook was bleak. But just earlier this month he talked about his joy as it was it revealed he was in remission.
"I am beating it," he said as he credited his wife Dwina for helping him recover and vowed to continue working.
"I could not have done it without the love of Dwina," he told a close friend.
"She has never left my side and is a wonderful person. I love her so much for what she has done for me.
"I am beating cancer and I can't wait to carry on with my work. My work means everything to me and keeps me going. I want everyone, all my fans, to know I am ok... their love helps me so much," he said. (ANI)
