Celebs see victim’s neck slashed
JESSIE J told of her heartache yesterday after a man was stabbed and seriously injured at a nightclub where she performed earlier.
The Price Tag singer, 24, had left the venue — where revellers included
Boyzone members, Fazer of N-Dubz and rapper Wretch 32 — before the victim
was slashed in the neck with a bottle.
But as he lay critically ill yesterday she tweeted: “My thoughts are with the person seriously injured last night at the BlackBerry bbm party. So sad. I really hope they are ok.”
The Voice judge Jessie, who has stepped up security after being targeted by a stalker and web trolls, had sung on stage at the South London nightspot.
She was rushed out by minders at 11.40pm, narrowly missing the bloody attack,
which took place at the venue’s bar.
Witnesses said the incident sparked “carnage” as sickened club-goers dashed for the exits.
One onlooker of the attack, revealed in later editions of The Sun yesterday, said: “There was lots of pushing and shoving then the victim was slashed twice with a bottle. There was blood everywhere.”
Actor Kenny Solomons told how he clasped his hands to the 37-year-old man’s
neck in an attempt to stem the blood.
The 25-year-old leapt into action using his first aid training from a new medical drama.
Kenny, who appeared in Sky One’s Dream Team, said: “Blood was pouring from a golf ball-sized hole. I put pressure on to try and stop the flow until paramedics arrived.”
Police took statements from the 1,500 club revellers including Wretch 32,
Fazer, and TOWIE trio Mark Wright, Joey Essex and Lauren Goodger.
Boyzone stars Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham were visiting the club after a Tuesday night booze-up to comfort band-mate Ronan Keating over his marriage split.
Ronan did not attend the club. Shane, 35, said: “What happened was horrendous.”
Cops said a 25-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was in custody at a South London police station.
